Formed in 2001, VizPoets offers a unique blend of Development, Production, Post Production, Distribution and Accounting services.

Vickie Gest is Head of Production & Finance and Lauren Ford is Head of Development & Marketing. This diverse experience allows VizPoets to offer script development, budget preparation, scheduling, budgeting, producer offset assistance, book keeping for film projects and marketing consultancy.

We have a successful slate of short films and documentaries that have won awards around the world. VizPoets currently has offices in Brisbane, Australia and Amman, Jordan.

Vickie has produced films that have won both Australian Film Institute (AFI) and Dendy Awards and have also been nominated for Inside Film and ATOM awards in Australia. Her films have screened in more than 250 festivals around the world and won numerous international prizes including Slamdance Best Short Documentary. She is an accomplished and respected documentary and drama producer with a long list of credits “Rare Chicken Rescue”, “Roller Derby Dolls”, “Over My Dead Body”, “Ascension”, “Bad Ass Mono-Winged Angel”, “Other People”, “Faithless” and “The Kangaroo”.

Over 15 years in the industry, she has worked in every production department.  Her experience spans feature films, documentaries, commercials, music videos and short dramas.

Vickie has served as a board member of Film City Inc and the treasurer of the Queensland Australian Cinematographers Society and is a full member of Screen Producers Association of Australia. Also a Registered Nurse with 20 years experience and has been a Production Accountant on several film projects in the last few years.

Lauren has a background in distribution, film marketing, acquisitions and script development. She was formerly the Theatrical Acquisition and Marketing Manager for independent Australian Distributor, Magna Pacific. During that time she attended all the major international film markets and acquired a number of highly successful mainstream films including “Becoming Jane” “Just Friends” and “Because I Said So”.    She also partnered with Hoyts Distribution and Dendy Films on joint acquisitions. 

Previous to that, she was the Product Manager on major DVD releases including “Strange Bedfellows” and “White Oleander”.

Previously, Lauren worked for Columbia Tri-Star and Mirabella Productions. She has also held Management positions with Australian Multiplex Cinemas and Hoyts Cinemas.   Lauren has a Degree of Communications with Majors in Film, Media and Public Relations.
